cleared the cutterhead and the guard has sprung back into place.
8.
Check the face to see if the bow is removed. Repeat the planing until the
board is smooth from one end to the other.

Place the flat face against the fence. Again make sure the cross-grain has
the narrow end of the grain pointing away from the cutterhead.

stick on the end of the board.

You can use your hands to hold the lumber while cutting an edge if
your hands are at least 4 in. away from the cutterhead.

BEVEL OR CHAMFER EDGE
Creating a bevel edge or chamfer edge may be done with the jointer. Typically a
bevel is created by angling a table saw' s blade and chamfering is accomplished
with a router.
Finish all edges before creating a bevel or chamfer.
1.
Set the fence to the desired angle and make sure the fence is touching the
table.
2.
Set the infeed table depth.
a.
A chamfer is normally created in a single pass. If you wish to create a
chamfer that is deeper than 1/8
3.
Make a single pass along the edge to create the chamfer. Repeat on other
edges, but make sure the chamfer ends on a previous chamfer to avoid
tear-out.
4.
Create a bevel by making multiple passes until the entire edge is beveled.
Repeat to create bevels on other edges. When possible, have the bevel cut
end at the non-bevel side to avoid tear out damage.
