rotating part of the power tool can cause injuries.
e) Avoid an abnormal posture. Make sure you
have a secure footing and keep your balance at all
times. This will help you to control the power tool in
unexpected situations.
f) Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing
or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair
can be caught in moving parts.
g) If dust extraction and collection devices can be
fitted, these must be connected and used correctly.
Using a dust extractor can reduce dust hazards.
h) Do not lull yourself into a false sense of security
and do not ignore the safety rules for power tools,
even if you are familiar with the power tool after
using it many times. Careless behaviour can result in
serious injuries within a split second.
4) Use and handling of the power tool
a) Do not overload the power tool. Use the power
tool intended for your work. With the appropriate
power tool, you will work better and safer within the
specified power range.
b) Do not use a power tool whose switch is defective.
A power tool that can no longer be switched on or off
is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the socket and/or
remove the detachable battery pack before making
any adjustments, changing accessory tools or storing
power tools. Such preventive measures prevent the
power tool from being started unintentionally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children
and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained
users.
e) Maintain power tools and the cutting tool with
care. Check that moving parts work properly and do
not jam, and that parts are not broken or damaged
in such a way that the function of the power tool
is impaired. Have damaged parts repaired before
using the power tool. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges
are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, insert tool, insert tools, etc.
in accordance with these instructions. Take into
account the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Using power tools for applications
other than those intended can lead to dangerous
situations.
h) Keep handles and handgrips dry, clean and free
from oil and grease. Slippery handles and handgrips
do not allow for safe operation and control of the
power tool in unforeseen situations.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced only by qualified
specialists and only with original spare parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
Safety instructions for band saw
Wear hearing protection. Exposure to noise can
cause hearing loss.
Use protective equipment. Always wear protective
goggles when working with the machine. Protective
clothing such as a dust mask, protective gloves,
sturdy, non-slip shoes and hearing protection are
recommended.
Wear gloves when handling saw blades and rough
materials.
Dust generated during work is often hazardous
to health and should not be allowed to enter the
body. Use dust extraction and also wear a suitable
dust mask. Thoroughly remove deposited dust, e.g.
vacuuming.
Connect the saw to a dust extractor when sawing
wood.
It is recommended that you read the operating
instructions carefully and have a practical
demonstration before using the machine for the first
time.
Before each sawing operation, make sure that the
machine is standing securely. Keep the floor free of
material residues, e.g. chips and sawdust.
WARNING : Do not use saw blades that are damaged
or deformed.
Saw blades that do not meet the specifications in this
manual must not be used.
Select a saw blade suitable for the material to be cut.
Select the saw band and the speed according to the
material to be cut.
Always use the machine's protective equipment.
Only use the saw if the protective devices are
functional, in good condition and in the intended
position.
WARNING: Do not operate the power tool if the
guard protecting the saw band is open.
WARNING: Do not clean the saw blade while it is still
running.
Do not reach into the danger area of the running
machine. Do not remove any sawing residues or
other parts of workpieces from the sawing area
when the machine is running and the saw head is not
in the rest position.
If necessary, support long workpieces with suitable
additional supports.
Support large panels to reduce the risk of kickback
due to a jamming saw blade. Large panels can bend
under their own weight. Panels must be supported
on both sides, both near the saw kerf and at the
edge.
Defects in the machine, including the protective
devices or the saw blades, must be reported to the
person responsible for safety as soon as they are
discovered.
If a blockage occurs, switch off the machine
immediately. Disconnect the mains plug and,
wearing gloves, remove the jammed workpiece.
Chips or splinters must not be removed while the
machine is running.
