17.1 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
The Freestyle
Hands-free breast pump is intended to be used in a home environment and

is EMC-tested in conformity with the requirements of the standard IEC 60601-1-2:2014 4th
Edition according to clause 7 and 8.9.
The breast pump needs special precautions regarding EMC and needs to be installed and
put into service according to the EMC information provided in these instructions for use.
Portable and mobile RF communications can affect the breast pump.
WARNING
To prevent malfunction resulting from electromagnetic interference:
• The electric breast pump Freestyle
stacked with other equipment. If adjacent or stacked use is necessary, the electric
breast pump Freestyle
in the configuration in which it will be used.
• Wireless communications equipment such as wireless home network devices, mobile
phones, cordless telephones and their base stations, walkie-talkies, RFID can affect
the electric breast pump and should be kept at a distance of at least 30 cm away
from the device.
• Use of accessories or cables other than those provided by the manufacturer of this
device could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic
immunity of this equipment and result in improper operation.
NOTICE
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital
device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This
equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in
a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or
television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user
is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver
is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
