Pressing
the
INTRO
CHECK
button
is
possible
in any
tape
operation
mode
except play-pause and record-pause. The
search
direction
is determined
by the
direction indicator which is lit.

Intro
Check,
if any tape

except
REC MUTE
is
pressed,
the
Intro
Check
function
is
canceled and the corresponding
mode is
entered.

The PGM function is provided to facilitate
search and playback of any desired tunes on
the tape (up to 19).
1. Load the tape you wish to listen to into
deck | or II.
2. Set the AUTO REVERSE switch to the
Cc> position.
3. Press the MEMO/CHECK
button. The
display appears as shown below.

it down until the figure corresponding to
the desired tune number, counting from
the beginning of side A or B, appears in
the program

this number. The figure in the program
number display will be changed.

in this order. To display a number
smaller than the previous programmed
tune number,
keep the PGM

pressed
until
the
number
appears;
then press the MEMO/CHECK button
to store that number.

Add, Replace Any Programmed Tune".

button to skip to the
beginning of side A or B.

8. The
tape fast-winds
to the
1st pro-
grammed
tune;
then
playback
is per-
formed;

fast-wound

Notes:
eProgramming tunes can be done without
loading the tape.
eThe program display will change to the
counter mode in the following cases, to
indicate that all programmed tunes have
been erased:
1. After completion of programmed music
search.
2. When
any
operation
button
except
PAUSE is pressed during playback with
programmed music search.
elf a certain programmed tune number does
not exist on the tape, when that number is
reached during programmed music search,
the tape will fast-wind to the end, thereby
canceling the programmed
music search
operation.

Programming Using INTRO CHECK
Programming can be performed during the
intro check as the first section of each tune
can be listened to. This means there will be
no problem, even if you don't know what
tunes are recorded on the tape.
We call this feature ICMD
(Intro Check
Memory
Dubbing).
For other information

page 10.
1. Load
a cassette with the tape fully
wound on the left reel in deck I.
2. Press the INTRO CHECK button to con-
tinuously detect the beginning of each
tune.
3. When
the tune to be programmed
is
heard, press the MEMO/CHECK button.
The
tune
number
display
will
now
indicate the program number and tune
number that are stored.
4. After completion of programming, press
the <4 button to return the tape to the
beginning of side A.
5. Programmed
music search can be per-
formed
from the start of tape in the
same way, as a PGM function.
How to Count the Desired Tunes for PGM/CDS Operation
Programming can be done by counting
from the beginning of each tape side,
AorB.
Example (See illustration)
eWhen counting from the beginning of
Side B
side A, assign (1) (1st tune of side A)
to (9) (4th tune of side B)
eWhen counting from the beginning of
side B, assign as [1] (1st tune of side B)
to [3] (5th tune of side A)
Note:

Even when (5) and © are actually one
tune,
the
PGM/CDS
feature
treats
this section as two tunes for counting
purposes.
