Indication
High-vacuum wound drainage system for continuous evacuation of wound secretions and for co-adaption and fixation
of the edges of a wound.
Contraindications
High-vacuum devices should not be placed in contact with vasculature, nerves or organs that could be damaged by the
vacuum system. Direct contact between the drain and the bowel should be avoided. High vacuum drainage systems are
also contraindicated in serous membranes. Attention should also be given to any other contraindications that are known
of within the individual departments.
Patient Risk Factors
Characteristics to be thoroughly considered by the physician before use:
• patients suffering from coagulation disorder
• patients under anticoagulants therapy
• usage in sensitive areas prone to bleeding, such as around osteoporosis area
Physicians should be prepared to take prompt action if bleeding occurs.
Installation

O pen the peel pouch at the point provided.

U nder sterile conditions, remove the sterile interior bag and the Redon bottle.

If using a bottle with a Luer Lock connector, check the Luer Lock connection and, if necessary, tighten it a little.
Check the vacuum indicator

Cut the drain connector

Connect the secured Redon drain inserted into the wound

T he system will now operate by itself.
The Redon bottle needs to be changed at the latest when there is a minimum vacuum as indicated by the green indicator
