7. Checking and settings
! CAUTION! To prevent accidents, make sure that the plug is disconnected from the power
receptacle.
7.1 Setting the depth of cut in planing mode (Fig 20 & 21)
- Turn the handle (5) to raise or lower the infeed table (4).
- Use the millimetric scale (27) to adjust the depth.
Reminders:
- The maximum working width is 210 mm.
- The maximum depth of cut is 2 mm.
7.2 Setting the blade guard (Fig 22 & 23)
The part of the cutterhead not used during machining must be covered by the guard (1).
- Loosen the knob (28), adjust the height of the guard, then tighten the knob (28).
- Loosen the knob (29), adjust the angle of the guard, then tighten the knob (29).
- Unlock the lever (30), slide the guard extrusion to adjust its width, then lock the lever (30).
7.2.1 Thick piece of wood or work on edge (Fig 27)
- Lower the guard (1) as close as possible to the table.
- Place the workpiece against the fence.
- Adjust the guard flush to the workpiece, making sure that it does not slow down the course of the workpiece
during machining.
7.2.2 Thin piece of wood (Fig 28)
- Adjust the guard (1) flush with the fence: it must cover the whole cutterhead.
- Adjust the guard in height, just above the piece of wood, while taking care that it does not slow down the course
of the workpiece during machining.
7.3 Setting the height of cut in thicknessing mode (Fig 24 & 25)
The depth scale shows the height of the cutterhead above the thicknesser table (7), therefore the thickness of the
workpiece after machining.
- Rotate the crank handle (2) to raise or lower the thicknesser table (7).
- Use the millimetric scale and the pointer (31) to adjust the height.
Warning! The cutting depth is 2.0 mm maximum. Measure the thickness of the workpiece and use the highest
dimension to adjust the depth of cut.
Reminders:
- The maximum working height is 210mm.
- The minimum working height is 6 mm.
- The maximum working width is 204mm.
- The maximum depth of cut is 2 mm.
8 Operation
8.1 Dust extraction
CAUTION!
- Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings, some wood types, can be harmful to one's health.
Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of the user or
bystanders.
- Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered as carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-
treatment additives (chromate, wood preservative).
- Materials containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
- Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace; dusts can easily ignite.
- Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
- It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
- Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the materials to be worked.
The machine is fitted with an integrated suction system: refer to §6.5.
If you choose to use a chip & dust vacuum instead of the integrated suction system:
