6.2 Fitting the fence (Fig 6 to 8)
Tools required: 1 Hex wrench, 1 Phillips screwdriver + 1x90° square (not supplied)
6.2.1 Mounting the fence on the machine (Fig 6 & 7)
- Locate and remove the two socket screws (16) from outfeed table (Fig 6).
- Fit the guide in position and fix it with the two socket screws (16) (Fig 7).
6.2.2 Adjusting the fence (Fig 7 & 8)
The fence must be set at 90º to the blade.
- Using a metal square, check the squareness of the guide with the tables when set to 0°.
If necessary:
- Slightly loosen the nut and the stop screw (18).
- Loosen the handle (17), adjust the guide at 90° to the tables with a metal square, then retighten the handle (17).
- Check that the pointer (19) points to the zero of the scale. If necessary, loosen the Phillips screw, set the pointer
(19) to 0°, and tighten the screw.
6.2.3 Setting the fence (Fig 7 & 8)
The guide is tiltable from 0° to 45° to form an angle of 90° to 135° with the table.
- Loosen the lock handle (17) to adjust the fence angle then tighten the handle (17) (Fig 7).
- Loosen the lock lever (20) to slide the fence then lock the lever (20) (Fig 8).
6.3 Fitting the crank handle (Fig 9)
- Fit the crank handle (2) on the shaft on the left of the infeed table.
Note: When not used, the handle can be store inside the toolbox (10).
6.4 Fitting the dust collector (Fig 10 to 15)
The dust collector (21) is used for both planing and thicknessing modes.
It is fitted with two keys (22) intended to lock it in position and activate the safety switch (15) (Fig 10).
! CAUTION! The dust collector is also used as blade guard in planing mode. Never use the machine
without the dust collector.
6.4.1 In thicknessing mode (Fig 8 & 10 to 13)
The dust collector (21) must be placed on the planer tables (4 & 13).
- Unlock the cam lever (20) and slide the fence to clear the outfeed table (13), then lock the lever (Fig 8).
- Loosen the knob (28) and lift the blade guard arm to expose the oblong hole (23) (Fig 11), then tighten the knob.
- Unlock the lever (30) and slide the blade guard (1) to clear the tables, then lock the lever (Fig 12).
- Place the dust collector (21) on the outfeed table (13) and align the keys (22) with the oblong holes (23) (Fig 12).
- Push both keys (22) into the oblong holes (23) to lock the dust collector and activate the safety switch (15) (Fig
13).
6.4.2 In planing mode (Fig 14 & 15)
The dust collector (21) must be placed under the planer tables (4 & 13).
- Rotate the crank handle (2) and move down the thicknesser table (7) in a low position (Fig 14).
- Place the dust collector (21) on the thicknesser table with its open side facing up.
- Raise the thicknesser table using the crank handle while adjusting the position of the collector to align the keys
(22) with the oblong holes (23) (Fig 15).
- Push both keys (22) into the oblong holes (23) to lock the dust collector and activate the safety switch (15).
6.5 Fitting the dust bag (Fig. 16 to 19)
Tool required: 1 slotted screwdriver
The machine is fitted with an integrated suction system.
- Slide one end of the flexible hose (12) over the dust collector port (21) then tight it with a clamp (24) (Fig 16).
- Slide the other end of the hose (12) over the suction inlet connector (25) then tight it with a clamp (24) (Fig 17).
- Slide the opening of the collection bag (6) over the suction outlet connector (26) then tight it with a clamp (24)
