5. Electrical safety
- The electric motor has been designed for one voltage only. Always check that the power supply corresponds to
the voltage on the rating plate. AC motor 230V-50Hz
- Insert the plug of the electrical cable in a socket of suitable shape, voltage and frequency complying with current
regulations. The main connection and the extension cables must be 3-wire: Neutral+Phase+Earth (L/N/PE).
- This machine protection is Class I: it must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, Earth
grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This machine
is equipped with an electric plug having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must
be plugged into a matching outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and
ordinances.
- When the work area is remote from the power source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness and rated
capacity. The extension cord should be kept as short as practicable with a cross section of 2.5 mm².
- Extension cords in poor condition or that are too small can cause fire and shock hazards. When using and
extension cord, be sure it is in good condition.
- The main connection is fused for a maximum of 16 A. with a nominal residual current of max 30 mA.
- The supply network must be provided with a residual-current-operated protective device (RCD)
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is
an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
- Do not leave the machine plugged in. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before servicing.
- Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Turn off the controls before unplugging.
- Do not use with a damaged cord, plug, or other parts. If your machine is not working as it should, has missing
parts, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to an authorized Service Center.
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use the cord as a handle. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not handle the plug of the machine with wet hands.
6. Unpacking and assembling
! CAUTION! To prevent accidents, make sure that the plug is disconnected from the power
receptacle.
6.1 Unpacking and installing the machine
WARNING! The machine is heavy. Do not handle the machine alone and ask for help!
WARNING! Check that all moving parts of the machine are attached before lifting and moving.
WARNING! Check that the machine is properly secured before lifting and moving it.
6.1.1 Unpacking the machine
- Carefully remove all contents from the shipping carton. If any parts are missing or broken, please call the
Customer Service for replacements. Do not turn your machine on if any of these items are missing. You may
cause injury to yourself or damage to the machine.
- Set packing material and shipping carton aside. Do not discard the packing material in case a return is necessary
until the machine has been set up and is running properly.
6.1.2 Installing the machine (Fig 4 & 5)
CAUTION! The machine is heavy. Additional help or a suitable lifting device or support will be required for
lifting the machine onto the stand.
CAUTION! Check the flatness of the floor: it should be flat, hard, and dry. The machine must be rigorously stable.
It is recommended to secure the machine to a workbench, a worktable, a stand, or other stable surface.
The machine features four holes in the base for mounting to a workbench or worktable.
- Mark holes on workbench where the machine is to be mounted (Fig 4), using holes in the base as a template.
- Drill holes through workbench and place the machine on workbench by aligning holes in the base with holes
drilled in the workbench.
- It is strongly recommended to use the rubber pads (9) to limit vibrations during machining (Fig 5).
- Fix the machine through the rubber pads by the 4 fixing holes of the base using bolts, nuts, locking nuts and
washers (not supplied).
- Make sure the machine does not rock and that the tables are level.
