4.4 Safety symbols
The following symbols are located on the machine, nameplate, and carton box.
Please read the following information carefully.
It is important and imperative that the safety signs on the machine remain readable and understandable.
! Danger! Ignoring warnings can cause serious injury or equipment damage.
Do not dispose of electric tools together with
household waste material.
Read and understand the instruction manual
before using the machine.
Wear eye protection.
Wear ear protection.
Wear dust mask.
Wear safety gloves.
Ask for help to handle the machine!
4.5 Safety devices
Overcurrent protection (Fig 2)
The overcurrent protection will automatically stop the machine to avoid overheating and premature degradation of
the motor.
It will then be necessary to press the reset button (14) before the machine can be restarted.
Blade guard (Fig 1)
In planing mode, the blade guard (1) protects the user from unintentional contact with the moving blades. It must
be adjusted in height and depth, according to the workpiece sections, to make the blades inaccessible.
It must be fixed in position, and the machine must never be started if the blade guard is not correctly installed.
Safety switch (Fig 3)
The contactor (15) cuts the power supply to the motor when, intentionally or accidentally, the chip collector (21) is
not installed and locked on the machine, both in planing and thicknessing modes.
To start the machine, the chip collector must be in place and locked with the key (22).
Make sure the contactor is working properly. Neutralizing this contactor is strictly prohibited.
Anti-kickback comb (Fig 3)
In thicknessing mode, the anti-kickback comb (107) prevents the workpiece from being thrown back towards the
operator by the rotating cutterhead.
The end of each finger is tapered so that it can retain the wood in the event of rejection, and each finger returns to
its initial position under the action of its own weight after the wood has passed through the machine.
Machine nameplate
This machine must be earth grounded.
Remove the plug out of the socket.
Do not wear gloves.
