WARNING! To reduce the risk o re, personal injury, and product
damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your tool, battery
pack or charger in fuid or allow a fuid to fow inside them.
Corrosive or conductive fuids, such as seawater, certain industrial
chemicals, and bleach or bleach containing products, etc., Can
cause a short circuit.
Never break open battery packs and chargers and store only in dry
rooms. Keep dry at all times.
Use only System M18 chargers or charging System M18 battery
packs. Do not use battery packs rom other systems.
Beore starting work, the operating sta must be inormed on and
trained within:
use o the machine
risks associated with the material to be picked up
sae disposal o the picked up material
This mobile dust extractor is designed, developed and rigorously
tested to unction eciently and saely when properly maintained
and used in accordance with the ollowing instructions.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
The vacuum cleaners described in this operating manual are
suitable or
• commercial use, e.g. in hotels, schools, hospitals, actories,
shops, oces and rental businesses.
• industrial use, such as e.g. plants, construction sites and
workshops.
• or separation o dust with an exposure limit o greater than 1
mg/m³, (dust class L).
The ollowing materials should not be picked up by the vacuum
cleaner
• hazardous dusts which belong to the classes M and H
• hot materials (burning cigarettes, hot ash, etc.)
ENGLISH
• fammable, explosive, aggressive liquids (e.g. petrol, solvents,
acids, alkalis, etc.)
• fammable, explosive dust (e.g. magnesium or aluminium dust,
etc.)
For Dust Class L machines (with type designation -L) ollowing
applies:
• The appliance is suitable or picking up dry, non-fammable
dust, hazardous dusts with OEL value > 1mg/m³.
• Dust Class L (IEC 60335-2-69)
• The dusts which belong to this class have OEL values > 1mg/m³
• For machines intended or the Dust Class L, the lter material is
tested. The maximum degree o permeability is 1% and there is
no special requirement or disposal.
• For dust extractors, ensure adequate air change rate L, when
the exhaust air is returned to the room.
Besides the operating instructions and the binding accident
prevention regulations valid in the country o use, observe
recognised regulations or saety and proper use.
Accidents due to misuse can only be prevented by those using the
machine.
READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
Any other use is considered as improper use. The manuacturer
accepts no liability or any damage resulting rom such use. The
risk or such use is borne solely by the user. Proper use also
includes proper operation, servicing and repairs as specied by
the manuacturer.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY AND WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
• Do not use without dust canister and/or lter in place.
• Do not use to pick up fammable or combustible liquids such as
gasoline or use in areas where they may be present.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking such as
cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• Do not pick up soot, cement, plaster or drywall dust without
lter in place. These are very ne particles that may aect the
perormance o the motor or be exhausted back into the air.
• This product is suitable or collection o silica dust when used in
accordance with these instructions. To reduce the risk o health
hazards rom other vapors or dust, do not vacuum carcinoge-
nic, toxic or hazardous materials such as asbestos, arsenic,
barium, beryllium, lead, pesticides or other health endangered
materials.
• Use special care when emptying heavily loaded tanks.
• To avoid spontaneous combustion, empty dust box ater each
use.
• Do not leave dust extractor unattended when battery pack is
installed. Remove battery pack when not in use and beore
servicing.
• Disconnect the battery pack rom the appliance beore making
any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing appliance.
Such preventive saety measures reduce the risk o starting the
appliance accidentally.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any ope-
ning blocked; keep ree o dust, lint, hair, and anything else that
may reduce air fow.
• Maintain dust extractor. Check or misalignment or binding o
moving parts, breakage o parts and any other condition that
may aect the dust extractor's operation. I damaged, have the
dust extractor repaired beore use. Many accidents are caused
by poorly maintained tools.
• The blowing unction is not intended or blowing away deposited
dust.
RESIDUAL RISK
Even when the product is used as prescribed, it is still impossible
to completely eliminate certain residual risk actors. The ollowing
hazards may arise in use and the operator should pay special
attention to avoid the ollowing:
• Injury caused by vibration. Hold the product by designated
handles and restrict working time and exposure.
• Exposure to noise can cause hearing injury. Wear ear protection
and limit exposure.
• Injury due to fying debris. Wear eye protection, heavy long
trousers, gloves and substancial ootwear at all times.
• Inhalation o toxic dusts.
NOTES FOR LI-ION BATTERIES
Use of Li-Ion batteries
Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Rechargeable
batteries are to be removed rom the appliance beore being
charged; Exhausted batteries are to be removed rom the appliance
and saely disposed o. I the appliance is to be stored unused or a
long period, the batteries should be removed.Battery packs which
have not been used or some time should be recharged beore use.
Temperatures in excess o 50°C (122°F) reduce the perormance o
the battery pack. Avoid extended exposure to heat or sunshine (risk
o overheating).
The contacts o chargers and battery packs must be kept clean.
For an optimum lie-time, the battery packs have to be ully charged,
ater use.
To obtain the longest possible battery lie remove the battery pack
rom the charger once it is ully charged.
For battery pack storage longer than 30 days:
Store the battery pack where the temperature is below 27°C and
away rom moisture
Store the battery packs in a 30% - 50% charged condition
Every six months o storage, charge the pack as normal.
Battery protection for Li-Ion batteries
In extremely high torque, binding, stalling and short circuit situations
that cause high current draw, the tool will vibrate or about 5
seconds, the uel gauge will fash, and then the tool will turn OFF.
To reset, remove the battery pack rom the tool and replace it. Under
extreme circumstances, the internal temperature o the battery pack
could raise too much. I this happens, the uel gauge will fash until
the battery pack cooled down. Ater the lights go o, the work may
continue.
Transporting Lithium Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation
requirements.
Transportation o those batteries has to be done in accordance with
local, national and international provisions and regulations.
The user can transport the batteries by road without urther
requirements.
Commercial transport o Lithium-Ion batteries by third parties is
subject to Dangerous Goods regulations. Transport preparation and
transport are exclusively to be carried out by appropriately trained
persons and the process has to be accompanied by corresponding
experts.
When transporting batteries:
Ensure that battery contact terminals are protected and insulated to
prevent short circuit.
Ensure that battery pack is secured against movement within
packaging. Do not transport batteries that are cracked or leak.
Check with orwarding company or urther advice.
WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
Only use the appliance i it is in perect condition. Never use the dust
extractor without a lter, or i the lter is damaged.
Do not use any unsae work techniques.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
Discard lter elements, lter bags and disposal bags in accordance
with the national regulations.
