TAPE COPYING

The tape copying function permits you to copy the contents of
a tape from DECK
| to DECK lt.

The SYNCHRO
COPY
button is used to select either normal
"speed copying, or high-speed copying (copying at twice the nor-
mal playback speed).
1. Load a tape for playback into DECK
| and a tape for
recording into DECK Il.
2. Set the REV MODE
switch.
3. Set the tape transport direction.

Tape copying is always performed in the direction indicated
by the tape transport indicator (> or <). To change this direc-
tion, press the desired playback button (P or <€), then im-
mediately press the stop ( ™) button.
4. Press the COPY
button to select either NORMAL
or
HIGH speed.
NORMAL:
Tape copying at normal speed allows listen during
playback (COPY indicator lights steadily).
HIGH:
Tape copying at twice the normal speed (COPY indi-
cator flashes).
To stop copying
Press the stop (™) button of either deck. Both decks will stop.
NOTES:

The tape in DECK I! will be copied in the same type of the DOL-
BY NR switch as DECK I's tape, regardless of its own setting.
When listening to the copied tape, set the type of the DOLBY
NR switch on DECK I.

Ifa nearby television set is on while high-speed copying is be-
ing performed, a high-pitched interference sound may be heard
on the tape. In this case, either use the normal speed copying
function, or turn off the television.

During high-speed copying, none of the operation buttons will
function except for the stop {@) button.

During normal speed copying, the recording mute
{Q ) and
pause (Wl) buttons of DECK II also function.

Tape copying is cancelled when either of the two tapes reaches
the end. Therefore it is advisable to use tapes of the same length.
°
The sound quality of the copied tape will be somewhat less than
the original. Therefore, when making more than one copy, al-
ways record from the original tape (do not make a copy of a
copy).
°
The recording level adjustment is not necessary during tape
copying.

La fonction de copie de bande vous permet de copier le conte-
nu d'une cassette de ia Platine | a la Platine Il.

La touche SYNCHRO COPY est utilisée pour sélectionner la co-
pie a vitesse normale ou a vitesse accélérée (la bande est co-
piée deux fois plus vite que la lecture normale).
2. Régler le commutateur REV MODE.
3. Régler le sens de défilement de la bande.
®@ La copie de bande est toujours effectuée dans le sens indi-
qué par l'indicateur de défilement de bande (> ou <j). Pour
changer le sens de défilement de la bande, appuyer sur la
touche de reproduction (P ou <4) désiré, puis appuyer immé-
diatement sur la touche d'arrét ( M@).
4. Appuyer sur la touches COPY pour sélectionner la vi-
tesse normale (NORMAL) ou la grande vitesse (HIGH).
NORMAL
: La copie de la bande s'effectue 4 la vitesse
(Vitesse normale)
normale, ce qui permet d'écouter la lecture
(I'indicateur COPY s'allume en continue).
HIGH
: La copie de la bande s'effecture deux fois
(Grande vitesse)
plus vite que dans le cas de la vitesse nor-
maie (l'indicateur COPY clignote).
Pour arréter la copie
Appuyer sur la touche d'arrét ( Ml) de I'une des platines. Les deux
platines s'arréteront.
REMARQUES :
°
La bande dans la Platine il sera copiée dans le méme type de
systéme de réduction du bruit Dolby (DOLBY NR) que la bande
de /a Platine |, quelle que soit la position du commutateur DOLBY.
Lors de I'écoute de la bande copiée, régler le type du commuta-
teur de systéme de réduction du bruit Dolby (DOLBY NR) sur
la Platine I.
° = Siun téléviseur allumé se trouve 4 proximité de cet appareil pen-
dant la copie d'une cassette 4 grande vitesse, un son d'interfé-
rence de haute fréquence peut se faire entendre. Dans ce cas,
utiliser la fonction de copie en vitesse normale ou éteindre le
téléviseur.

Pendant la copie 4 grande vitesse, toutes les commandes devien-
nent inopérantes, a I'exception de la touche d'arrét (#1).

La qualité du son de la bande copiée sera un peu inférieure 4
celle de I'originale. En conséquence, pour copier le méme maté-
riel plusieurs fois, toujours l'enregistrer 4 partir de la bande d'ori-
gine (ne pas faire une copie d'une copie).
