Respirator Program Management
Occupational use of respirators must be in compliance with applicable health and safety standards. By law,
US employers must establish a written respiratory protection program meeting the requirements of the OSHA
Respiratory Protection Standard 29 CFR 1910.134 and any applicable OSHA substance specific standards. In
Canada, CSA standard Z94.4 requirements must be met and/or requirements of the applicable jurisdiction, as
appropriate. For additional information on this standard, contact OSHA at www.OSHA.gov. The major sections
of 1910.134 are listed here for convenience, but should not serve as a substitute for consulting the actual
regulation or contacting OSHA. Consult an industrial hygienist or call 3M Technical Service with questions
concerning applicability of these products to your job requirements.
