Disposal
8.1
Withdrawal from service
The chemical protective suit must be withdrawn from service
in the following situations:
– It has been damaged and repair is not possible.
– It was contaminated and cannot be decontaminated due
to the characteristics of the hazardous substance.
– The suit material has altered: for example, there are
visible embrittled areas, bulges, colour changes, softened
areas on the surface.
In case of doubt please contact Dräger for more information.
8.2
Service life
If unused and if the recommended storage conditions and
maintenance intervals are met, the material properties of the
chemical protective suit are retained for at least 15 years
from the date of manufacture. The service life may be
reduced despite correct storage and servicing if the suit is
used frequently.
8.3
Disposal information
The chemical protective suit must be disposed of in
accordance with the applicable regulations.
The chemical protective suits can be disposed of thermally
or on waste dumps. The form of disposal depends on the
contamination.
