Troubleshooting
- Obstruction in suction tube
- Capillary or bi-flow Accurater obstructed
or ice clogged
- Outdoor unit fan does not stop during
defrost in heating cycle (heat pump)
- Defective defrost thermostat in heating
cycle (heat pump)
- Defective physical contact between pipe
and defrost thermostat in heating cycle
(heat pump)
- Defective defrost relay or defrost timer in
heating cycle (heat pump)
CHECK/REMEDY
- Drain refrigerant, evacuate system and
recharge
- Check for wire connections and repair
- Replace
- Check for cause and eliminate
- Replace
Outdoor unit fan stopped or cycling due
to thermal safety protection:
PROBABLE CAUSE
- Defective fan motor capacitor
- Connection leads loose at fan motor
- Fan motor burnout
