SELECTING THE CHARACTERISTIC
Caution! Do not open this appliance before you have
disconnected it from both the mains supply and the battery.
Caution! Always follow the instructions given by the
battery manufacturer.
Selecting the characteristic with the "Selectiva Eco 1020/
2010/2020" charger series
- Use a suitable screwdriver to press the snap-in brackets of
the right plastic sidepiece out of the apertures in the housing.
- Use a screwdriver to turn the coding switch (located behind
the opening next to the fan) to the desired characteristic (see
the "Characteristic parameters" on the inside back cover)
- Remount the plastic sidepiece
- Remount plastic cheek

- Disconnect charging line from battery
- Press and hold Stop Button
- Selected characteristic is displayed
- Press Stop Button

stic (see the section headed "Characteristic parameters" on
the inside back cover)
- different indicators light up, depending on which
characteristic you have selected:
e.g. characteristic number 0010
- "Charge" indicator is not lit up ................................ 0
- "Final/Additional charge" indicator is not lit up ..... 0
- "Compensation charge" indicator is lit up .............. 1
- "Fault" indicator is not lit up .................................... 0
Procedure
- Disconnect the charging cables from the battery
- Press and hold the Stop button until all the indicators go out

- The selected characteristic is displayed
- Press the Stop button to select the type of characteristic that
you want
N.B.! The selected characteristic will be saved after a 10-second
period has elapsed without any button being pushed.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
1. Charge
N.B.! As the charging lines are not live (no sparking), you do not
need to disconnect the battery charger from the power supply
when connecting it up with the battery.
- Plug in the mains plug
- Plug in the charging plug
- "Charge" indicator
2. Final charge
- "Final charge/Additional charge" indicator
Battery is 80 - 85 % full.
3. Additional charge
- "Final charge/Additional charge" indicator
Battery is being completely charged. A cell equalisation charge
is now initiated.
4. Compensation charge
- "Compensation Charge" indicator
After completing final charge, the battery charger automati-
cally switches over to compensation charge. This charge
compensates for the battery's self-discharge. The battery is
kept always ready for use, and may stay connected to the
charger for any length of time.
5. Unplugging the charger
To disconnect the charger from the battery, proceed as follows:
- Push the Stop button
- Unplug the charging plug
N.B.! Please note that for operational reasons, the fan may run
at varying speeds. The battery charger is fully functional, however.
