Don't forget that new brake pads need to be broken in. Breaking in is done by using the bike for a
few minutes and alternating the brakes abruptly and braking slightly.
Changing the brake pads
Remove the wheel and remove the old pads from the brake calliper. Position the new pads in the
calliper so that the braking surfaces touch. Do not touch the braking surfaces. Insert the pads one at a
time in the brake calliper.
Then adjust the brakes according to the previous paragraph.
Wear of the wheel rims
As any other part that is subject to wear, the wheel rim should be checked regularly. The wheel rim
can weaken and break, causing you to lose control and fall.
WARNING: It is very important to check the wear of the wheel rims. A damaged wheel
rim can be very dangerous and needs to be replaced.
Integrated automatic gear shifting system
The bicycle is equipped with an integrated automatic
dual-speed system inside the motor. It automatically
adjusts the gear ratio to two different levels by detecting
the speed of the bicycle while pedalling, which is done
by the torsion sensor.
This ensures that the best gear ratio is always available
to ensure a good pedalling cadence.
Chain adjustment
The supplied chain is fitted inside a cantilever chain guard called a chainglider. This component extends
the life of the chain, reduces maintenance work and provides better protection.
To replace the chain
The safest method is to count the number of links in the old chain in order to adjust the new one. To
fit the old chain, simply pull it off (remove a rivet).
Once it has been pulled off, the new one must be fitted. To do this, you must pass it around the
crankset of the pedals and the rear sprocket, so that it connects correctly to the other elements of the
