Examine the texture of the grounds:
If the texture is pulpy, the grounds are too fine.

If the texture is loose like sand, the grounds are

too coarse.
If the texture packs easily into a cake shape, the

grounds are suitable.
To make a single coffee only: Place one level
•
measure (≦8g )of ground coffee in the filter.
To make a double coffee only: Place one level
•
measure (≦15 g )of ground coffee in the filter.
To be precise, use about 8lbs (3.6kg) when pressing the
coffee grounds, and this can be done by hand. However,
most people have difficulty gauging the amount of weight
they use. Instead, aim to tamp the coffee until it forms
the shape of a puck, with no loose coffee. Then make
your brew. Keep practicing until the result is a thick and
rich coffee with a crema. See also Troubleshooting.
When pouring out coffee grounds, use this hook to
prevent the filter basket from falling out.
Warming your cup prior to making coffee reduces heat
loss when the coffee hits the cup, ensuring a better
quality of taste in the coffee.
This sleeve creates a vortex convection effect, resulting
in a richer, finer milk froth.
Milk frothing is an art – so don't give up if you don't
succeed the first time! Keep practicing! Additionally,
always start with cold, refrigerated milk, since already-
warm milk tends not to froth.
Take the vessel you are using to froth the milk and tap it
down hard on the table a few times. Then rotate it
clockwise a few turns. This will eliminate the big bubbles
and give you a softer, denser froth.
Low fat milk, whole milk, half and half, heavy cream and
non-dairy milks may all be used, but be aware that the
froth density may be different depending on the fat
content of the milk. Additionally, some non-dairy milks are
more capable of frothing than others.
Usually, this happens when the tube has not been
cleaned in some time. You can use something small like a
paperclip to clear the tube. You can also put a 1:1 water
to vinegar mix in the water tank and switch the knob to
steam to clear it. If neither of the above suggestions
