Operating Manual Biowelder
7.2.2
Abort in the critical section
Basically, there are two ways to abort the welding process in the critical
section. If the operator control shows the "Power has failed" message, a
network interruption has discontinued the welding process in the critical
section. If the operator control
shows the "Failed in critical section" message, the welding process was
aborted in the critical section because of a drive blockage.
Sartorius Stedim Biotech recommends that a rewelding be selected to
minimize the risk of failure . When in the critical section while using liquid
filled tubing welding, select "Reweld" only to avoid liquid on the device .
Follow the operating instructions. Proceed according to the following diagram:
Reweld

Correct tube
type chosen?
Yes
Insert blade and close cover.
Press start button
Device is executing
a reweld
Remove blade
The blade is brought to the starting position with „Device reverted from
the critical section" . Both welding axes remain closed so that fluid can not
flow out .
Clamp the tubes very close to the housing but outside the cover . This
minimizes damage in case of failure .
