6. Slowly take the ammonia bottle past the gas-conveying parts.
Also check the flexible tube leading to the manometer.
Do not let liquid ammonia get into contact with any parts of the
system.
Option
White mist appears or the
pressure drops.
No white mist appears and
the pressure does not drop.
7. Close battery 1: Press key (S22) until the lamp (H28) lights up.
8. Start the dosing unit of the gas dosing system until the contact
manometer shows 0 bar.
9. Open battery 2: Press key (S32) until the lamp (H29) lights up.
10. Open the container valves of battery 2 until the contact
manometer of the 185 change-over device shows a pressure of
approximately 2 bar. Close the container valves immediately.
11. Slowly take the ammonia bottle past the gas-conveying parts.
Also check the flexible tube leading to the manometer.
Do not let liquid ammonia get into contact with any parts of the
system.
Option
White mist appears or the

No white mist appears and
the pressure does not drop.

The pressure line is leaky.
• Depressurise the system.
• Eliminate the leakage.
• Repeat the tightness check.
The pressure line is tight.
Close battery 1 and continue
with the tightness check of
battery 2.

5.3 Starting up the 185 change-over device
The 185 change-over device is always part of a gas dosing system.
The other components of the system determine the course of
startup.
Before startup:
1. Make sure that the following is true with respect to the ball
valves:
a. The ball valves of the bypass lines (2) must be closed.
b. The ball valve of the outlet line (3) must be open.
2. Set the operation mode switch (S3) to "man".
3. Set the change-over device to the container battery that should
be used first:
a. Open battery 1: Press key (S18) until the lamp (H15) lights
up.
b. Close battery 1: Press key (S22) until the lamp (H28) lights
up.
c. Open battery 2: Press key (S32) until the lamp (H29) lights
up.
d. Close battery 2: Press key (S37) until the lamp (H42) lights
up.
4. Set the operation mode switch (S3) to "auto".
