DISINFECTION

Your nursing bed may only be disinfected by a trained hygienist or by someone a hygienist has
appointed.
All parts of the nursing bed can be treated by rubbing/wiping with a disinfectant. In principle, all
surfaces of a system or a product must be disinfected before handing it over to a new user, at least
once a year (e.g. when it is inspected) or when infections are detected in the user. Then the measures
of the German Epidemic Law (IfSG)must be applied.
The current status of the disinfectants included in the RKI list can be found at the Robert Koch Institute
(Home page: www.rki.de).
!
Wear appropriate protective clothing. Wear suitable protective gloves because disinfectants
can irritate the skin on contact. For this purpose you should also take note of the product
information for the solutions in question.
!
Take care that no disinfectant penetrates the electronics, plugs, and other electrical system
connections -- short circuit danger!
!
You employ unauthorized personnel at your own risk.
!
The bed manufacturer does not accept liability for damage and injury caused by improperly
executed disinfection.
All measures to disinfect rehabilitation aids, their components and other equipment need to be entered
into the disinfection log. The disinfection log contains at least the following entries and needs to be
stored with the corresponding documentation from the specialist dealer.

IF = infection case

STORAGE

If the nursing bed is not used or is to be put in storage, the following guidelines should be
taken in consideration:
Store in a dry place (between + 5 °C and + 40°C).
The relative humidity of the air should be between 30 % and 70 %.
Air pressure between 700 hPa and 1060 hPa.
Disconnect the power plug.
Carefully roll up the power cable with no kinks and place it in the receptacle provided.
Check internal cables for squashing and the kink protection.
When dismantling: Replace all screw joints and bolts tightly in their slots.
Store all removed parts together in one place (or mark them if necessary) to avoid mixing up
with other products when re-assembling.
No component should be stored with a heavy weight on it.
!
After being re-assembled and passed on to somebody else, all inspections must be performed
as described in the "Inspection" chapter.
!
Make sure all components required for assembling the nursing bed are in place (see the
"Included in Delivery" chapter).
