6.2 Fastening
You will find the technical drawing with complete dimensioning in the data sheets of the corresponding
encoder.
6.2.1 Solid shaft encoder
The solid shaft encoder is fastened with at least three M3 screws through the threaded holes provided
in the flange; the screws must be tightened with a torque of 1 Nm and secured against loosening. The
shaft must be connected with the drive by means of a tolerance-compensating element and secured
against loosening. When fastening the shaft, the user or the installation company that mounts the
encoder must make sure that the fastening method complies with the safety requirements in force.
Max. permissible tolerances for the shaft connection:
• Axial offset:
< +/- 0,25 mm [0.0098]
• Radial offset:
< +/- 0,20 mm [0.0079]
• Angular offset:
< 1°
