WARNING!
• Helmet users must read, learn and respect the basic rules given in this manual.
• The radiation emitted by the electric arc during welding can damage the eyes and burn the skin. In addition, welding produces sparks and drops of
molten metal that y in all directions. The protective helmet must be worn to avoid potentially serious physical damages.
• Do not, for any reason, set re to the welding helmet because the smoke it produces will damage the eyes and body if inhaled.
• The material used to make the whole helmet does not endanger people or the environment.
• Regularly check the conditions of the helmet:
- Before using it, make sure that the auto darkening ter and the cover plates are in the correct position and correctly xed in place: they must be exactly
in the space described.
- Keep the helmet away from ames.
- The helmet must not be placed too close to the welding area.
- When welding for extended periods, occasionally check the helmet to make sure there are no signs of deformation or deterioration.
- Subjects with particularly sensitive skin must take extra care: materials that may come into contact with the skin can cause allergic reactions.
• This self-darkening mask is homologated only for protecting the face and eyes from ultraviolet and infrared radiation, from sparks and welding sprays.
It is not suitable for laser welding and oxy-acetylene welding and cutting or for protecting the face against explosions or corrosive liquids.
• Only replace helmet parts with others that are speci ed in this manual. Non-observance of this regulation can expose the operator to health risks.
• If the helmet does not darken or presents operation problems, refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING chapter; if the problem persists immediately stop using
the helmet and contact the person in charge or a distributor.
• Do not immerse the lter in water or other liquids; do not use solvents to clean the lter and the cover plates.
• Only use the helmet in temperatures of between: -5°C (+23°F) ÷ +55°C (+131°F).
• Only store the helmet in temperatures of between: -20°C (-4°F) ÷ +65°C (+149°F).
• Do not allow the lter and the cover plates to come into contact with liquid and dirt.
• Do not open the auto darkening lter container.
• Never use the helmet without the internal and external transparent cover plate protections.
• Check the compatibility between marking cover plates and frame; both shall have marked the same symbol of resistance to increased robustness and
high speed particles, in this case "B".
• Eye-protectors against high speed particles worn over standard ophthalmic spectacles may transmit impacts, thus creating a hazard to the wearer
• Do not use replacement parts other than those original TELWIN.
• Unauthorized modi cations and replacement parts will void the warranty and expose the operator to the risk of personal injury.
• Insert two CR2450-type batteries into the auto darkening lter control before using the mask (Fig. B).
• Replace the batteries when the "LOW BAT" LED lights up.
• We recommend a use of the welding helmet, the auto darkening lter and the cover plates for a period of 2 years. The duration of use depends on various
factors such as use, cleaning storage and maintenance. Frequently inspections and replacement if it is damaged are recommended.
PRECAUTIONS
For your protection and to ensure that your auto darkening lter is properly working, carefully read these instructions and consult with a quali ed
instructor or supervisor prior to operation.
• These auto darkening lter and cover plates are suitable for use with virtually all welding processes except for Oxy-Acetylene welding, plasma welding,
laser welding.
• Standard polycarbonate clear cover plate must be installed on both the inside and outside surfaces of the lters.
