CE User Manual
1. Scope
This user manual concerns CE gas-loaded
accumulators according to PED 2014/68/EU. It is also
valid for accumulators under 4.3 article from PED
2014/68/EU.
2. General
This equipment is designed, manufactured and tested in
compliance with European Directive PED 2014/68/EU.
It is essential to carefully follow the instructions
given in this document and in the specific
instruction sheets when these are available and
are relevant. The supplier waives all responsibility
for direct or indirect material damage or human
injury resulting from the non-compliance with
the instructions set out below, as well as for
consequences such as, for example, operating
losses.
Before start up and during operation, the operator must
take into account the regulations relating to hydraulic
accumulators applicable on the installation site. The
operator is entirely responsible for the compliance with
the existing regulations, and must carefully retain the
documents supplied with the apparatus throughout
its service life. These may be requested at the time of
inspection.
Note: Crimped piston accumulators (type ACP
and HCP) are non repairable and can NOT be
disassembled.
3. Safety Devices
The accumulators must be protected from overpressure
which could occur beyond the admissible limits (see
chapter 5) by safety accessories.
Safety accessories are the responsibility of the operator.
4. Handling - Storage
The original packing is suitable for handling and storing
the equipment, unless otherwise specified.
4.1 Handling
Handle with care !
Provide lifting gear that is suitable for the weight of the
accumulator. The inflation valve must not be subjected
to any impact, however slight.
4.2 Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Do not expose to flames or
heat. It is recommended that accumulators be stored in
a horizontal position.
When storing accumulators in their original packaging,
do not stack them, unless their volume is less than 4
litres (maximum 2 tiers).
If the accumulators are to be stored for more than 5
years, all parts made of elastomeric material must
be replaced before they are put into service (contact
Parker or an approved Parker agent).
If they are to be stored for a period of 5 years or less,
this period should be borne in mind when determining
the dates of the first maintenance operations (see
Section 7).
If the accumulators (bladder and diaphragm) are to
be stored for more than 6 months, precharge must be
reduced storage pressure (see Section 6.1.1).
Also refer to the Parker storage instructions.
5. Accumulator Labelling and Marking
It is strictly forbidden to change any information
and markings without the prior written agreement
of Parker.
In case of inconsistency between the information
provided on the manufacturer's name plate and on
other accumulator parts (shell, opening, etc.), always
refer to the manufacturer's name plate.
The following information is indicated on the accumulator:
Parker and/or Olaer logo
Product designation
Manufacturing date
Reference of the accumulator
Allowable temperature range
of the accumulator (TS) in °C
Maximum allowable pressure PS in bar
Fluid group (1 or 2) Acc. to new classification (EC)
regulation CLP 1272/2008
Nominal volume of vessel V in litres
Test pressure PT in bar
Test date
Certain models:
Warning messages and safety instructions
("Danger", "Use nitrogen only", etc. or similar)
Maximum inflation pressure Po Max in bar
Allowable pressure amplitude ΔP Max in bar
Total dry mass in kilogram
When it is applicable:
- CE logo
- The notified body's identification number.
6. Commissioning – Service life
The equipment must only be commissioned by qualified
technicians (contact Parker or an approved Parker
agent).
Before installation, visually check that the accumulator
is not damaged. Care should be observed to prevent
damage to the painting (which is the protection against
the corrosion) or any option during unpacking.
