Remove the wiring sub loom by disconnecting the indicator and licence plate light connections
and removing the sub-loom from the securing clips arrowed in picture 18.
Tail Tidy Assembly
•
To assemble the R&G tail tidy, refer to the Assembly Diagram 1 & 2 and follow the steps below:
Affix the TB0299 Part 3 (item 3) cover plate to the TB0299 Part 1 bracket (Item 1)
o
using 4 x M5x12mm countersunk bolts (item 11) adjusting as necessary before fixing
each bolt with an M5 x 16mm OD washer (item 13) and Nyloc nut (item 14) with an
8mm spanner as shown in Assembly diagram 2.
Affix the TB0299 Part 2 plate mount bracket (item 2). In the same fashion using 4 x
o
M5x12mm bolts (item 11), 4 x M5x12mm washers (item 12) and remaining M5 Nyloc
Nuts (item 14).
Insert the rubber bung RB0002 Rubber bung (item 15) into the large hole in the
o
mounting face of the tail tidy, as shown in Assembly diagram 1.
Place one section of heat shrink (item 16) over the wires of LA0002 (item 5) and heat
o
carefully until wires are covered neatly.
Affix the LA0002 shroud if not already and secure with a small drop of superglue, this
o
will direct the light towards the licence plate when fitted.
Fix the LA0002 (item 5) to the licence plate mount bracket using the 2 x nuts and
o
washers provided using a 6mm socket as shown on Assembly diagram 1. Thread the
wires downwards through the gap between the main bracket (item 1) and cover plate
(item 3)
Attach the CON0014 (item 21) to the bullet connectors, ensuing to connect both BLACK
o
wires together.
If using OEM indicators
•
If re-using the OEM indicators, remove these from the OEM tail unit by removing the securing
nut from each indicator and thread the wire through the bracket to remove.
•
Ensuring fix the indicators to the correct side, thread the connector and wire through the
indicator mount on the licence plate mount bracket and the wire hole on TB0299 Part 1 (item
1). And affix the indicators securely with the with the OEM nut as shown in picture 19.
If using R&G Mini Indicators (Please note during this process the OEM indicators will need to be cut
to retain the original connectors.)
•
If using R&G mini indicators, follow the steps below:
•
Take one length of heat shrink (item 16) and place over each pair of indicator wires and heat
carefully until the wires are neatly encased, leaving the bullet connectors exposed.
•
Thread either indicator wire through the forward indicator mount hole on the licence plate
mount bracket (item 2) and the wiring hole on the TB0299 Part 1 main bracket (part 1) and fix
the indicator in place using the flanged nut. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
•
Thread both indicator wiring covers (Item 20) over the mini-indicator wires and cover the nut
and thread, a small amount of soap may help guide the wires through the rubber.
•
Connect the two indicator adaptors provided CON0073 & CON0074 (items 22 & 23) to the
relevant indicators.
Fixing to the bike
•
With the light and indicators fixed to the tail tidy the OEM sub-loom removed earlier can be
attached by connecting the relevant connectors to their counterparts as shown in picture 20.
