Fine Tuning of the Helicopter

a) Checking and Setting the Swash Plate Control
If the swash plate (also see figure 12, item 2) is not perfectly horizontal after the helicopter is switched on, or if hover
flight requires that nod and roll trimming to be adjusted a lot, the swash plate control can be mechanically adjusted.
First switch on the transmitter. Then switch on the model.
When the binding process is completed, the servos (1) will
go into their centre position (neutral position). In this posi-
tion, the servo levers (2) must be aligned perfectly horizon-
tally. The trimming settings for the nod and roll functions at
the transmitter must be in their central positions.
The left servo (when viewed in flight direction)
controls the nod function and the right servo
(when viewed in flight direction) controls the roll
function.
If required, remove the fastening screw (3) on the servo le-
ver, pull the lever off the rotational axis and re-install it in the
proper position offset by one tooth.
If the swash plate is slightly askew even though the servo
levers are horizontal, disconnect the ball sockets (4) of the
linkage rods (5) at the swash plate and twist them to set the
required rod length.
Unhooking and hooking in the ball sockets is easiest when
using small pincers or long nose pliers.
Attention!
Always disconnect the flight battery from the model before carrying out any maintenance or adjustment
works at the model.
For better illustration, figure 29 shows the mechanics removed from the fuselage. For the precise proce-
dure, see the following section: "Mechanics disassembly". Length adjustment of the two linkage rods (see
figure 29, item 5) is also possible with the mechanics installed.
