d) Setting the Gyro Effect
Besides the receiver and both electronic speed controllers for the electric motors, there also is a gyroscope system
integrated in the receiver/controller unit. This gyroscope system helps the tail of the helicopter to remain stable when
hovering and prevents it from swivelling to the side continuously due to air drafts or air turbulences.
The controller for the gyro sensitivity settings was adjusted to the best value ex works like the controller for
the servo deflections.
Therefore, you should not change its settings if you are content with your model's flight behaviour.
The controller for the gyro reaction sensitivity (6) is above
the LED display (3) of the receiver/controller unit (1).
You can make these adjustments using a small screwdriver
as well.
The further you turn the controller to the left, the stronger
the corrections (speed differences of the tail rotor) will be.
If the controller is turned too far towards the left, the heli-
copter will tend to show oscillating movements around the
yaw axis (rotor shaft). In this case, turn the adjuster a little
bit towards the right again.
For better illustration, figure 32 shows the mechanics re-
moved from the fuselage. Settings can also be made while
installed by using the corresponding openings (4) in the fu-
selage side.
