8.3 Faults
Fault
1. During venting of the
dosing pumps, the suction
line does not fill with liquid,
despite 100 % setting
2. LED for the bypass water
flashes when the
installation is started.
There is too little or no
dilution water flowing
through the bypass line
3. Startup mode is
automatically interrupted
4. The dosing pumps are not
dosing, or the LEDs for the
flow monitor are not
flashing
5. Imprecise dosing pump
capacity
6. Alarm signal: only manual
mode
7. System is started, display
indicates "active", but does
not dose or the bypass
water is not flowing
8. Alarm signal:
"Dosing controller HCl" or
2
"Dosing controller NaClO

Cause
a) The venting spindle in the dosing head is
incorrectly set
b) Suction and pressure valves in the dosing
head have dried out, making them leak slightly
c) Leaks between the lower end of the suction
line and the connection nipple on the floater
switch foot valve
a) No dilution water available
b) The coil in the solenoid valve is defective,
the valve remains closed
c) The counterpressure at the injection unit is too
high
d) The admission pressure of the solenoid valve
is too low
e) The bypass pump has not been correctly
vented
f)
Isolation valve upstream of the system and/or
in the chlorine dioxide solution line to the
injection unit is closed
g) Flow meter operation impaired by
contaminated dilution water
a) The water tank is empty
b) The float switch in the suction line is stuck
c) The float switch is defective
d) Air in the suction line or in the dosing head of
the pump
a) Air in the suction line
b) Injection unit is blocked
c) The suction or discharge valves are not
correctly fitted
a) The dosing head has not been correctly vented
b) Counterpressure fluctuations
c) Suction and discharge valves are dirty
a) "Manual" mode has been selected, although
the system has been started in automatic mode
a) Remote ON/OFF active, i.e. the system has
been set to standby via this contact
b) Min. contact main water active, i.e. the volume
of main water is too low
a) Air in the suction line
b) No liquid in the pump calibration system, the
"
isolation valve on the calibration tube is closed
c) Diaphragm or pressure sensor in the flow
controller are defective
Remedy
a) Open the venting spindle by approx. 1 turn;
if necessary, open or close it further
b) Remove the suction and pressure valves,
dip them in clean water and shake them;
Screw them back in and vent the pump again
c) Remove the suction line from the container,
check that the suction hose is positioned
correctly on the nipple, correct it if necessary
and vent it once again
a) Check the dilution water supply line
b) Replace the coil
c) Reduce the counterpressure at the injection
unit, or possibly increase the admission
pressure (max. 10 bar)
d) Increase the admission pressure (min. 1 bar)
e) Vent the bypass pump again
f)
Open the isolation valve
g) Remove the flow meter and clean it in clean
water
a) Refill the water tank
b) Check the float switch, clean it, if necessary
c) Exchange the float switch
d) Vent the dosing pumps again
a) Vent the suction line and dosing head with
the dosing pump set to 100 % dosing
capacity
b) Open the injection unit isolation valve or
reduce the counterpressure at the injection
unit
c) The suction and pressure valves in the
dosing head must be installed in such a way
that the flow direction arrow points upwards
a) Repeat the venting process
b) Install a pressure loading valve downstream
of the Oxiperm system
c) Clean the valves
a) Acknowledge the alarm and start the system
in manual mode
a) Switch remote ON/OFF to ON
b) Increase the main water volume or deactivate
the min. contact
a) Vent the suction line and dosing head with
the dosing pump set to 100 % dosing
capacity
b) Open the isolation valve and vent the pump
c) Check the flow controller
