3- INTRODUCTION
U-base 2 PC is a piece of software designed to allow you to interface with BFT S.P.A. control units and
receivers, based on the U-LINK protocol or with BFT S.P.A. receivers, based on the EE-LINK with U-PROG,
using a computer with an operating system that supports .NET Framework technology.
U-base 2 PC features a highly intuitive and simplified GUI (user interface). Just a few mouse clicks is all it
takes for the installer to interrogate one or more BFT systems using the U-LINK protocol, reprogramming
them as needed.
By exploiting ClickOnce technology, U-Base 2 PC will check for updates every time the system is switched
on and will download and install them.
U-base 2 PC functions can be extended using U-prog as an accessory to:
Add new transmitters
Clone new transmitters
Replace a transmitter
Read a transmitter's code
Read and write EE-Link receivers
U-prog is recognized by U-base 2 PC by:
Connecting it via USB
Associating it via Bluetooth through the Settings menu, following the Pairing procedure.
BFT S.P.A. has designed a system for connection between U-BASE 2 PC and the Control Units/Receivers
using a wireless U-LINK protocol, e.g. Bluetooth, or hardwired connection, e.g. RS-485. As well as being
simple, this is a secure system since it is protected by an encrypted password for each system.
From now on, U-base 2 PC gives BFT installers the opportunity to have and manage their own database
containing all installations carried out, to reprogram systems, even when they are offline (not connected to
them), and then visit the system and enter the configuration with just a few mouse clicks on the desired
systems.
U-base 2 PC comes with our Bluetooth dongle so that if your computer does not yet have the Bluetooth
protocol, you can bring it up to date with what has been recognized for some years as an international
communication standard.
