Abbreviations

Actuator-Sensor-interface, a manufacturer-independent system for the connection of
analogue and binary terminal devices (sensors, actuators, control switches) at the lowest
field level.
Extension of the AS7interface system with safety components by means of the use of a
combination of AS7interface safety monitor and safe AS7interface bus nodes.
One or more safety monitors integrated in the AS7interface system monitor safe
AS7interface bus nodes and shut down the protected part of the machine such that the
dangerous state of the machine is brought to an end.
Fail-safe bus nodes in the AS7interface Safety at Work system, e.g. the safe bus node
UE4215.
Electro-sensitive protective equipment, e.g. SICK safety light curtain C4000.
Output signal switching device.
