FUEL SYSTEM
l l Use Diesel fuel No.2-D (ASTM D975)
l l See engine manufacturer's manual for additional
information.
Bleeding air from fuel system
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (don't
start engine).
2. Open air vent R on side of injection pump to
allow air to escape.
3. Retighten air vent.
4. Turn ignition to OFF.
Water Seperator - If water is not removed from the
fuel, extensive damage can be done to the fuel
injection system.
1. Bleed all air from fuel system.
2. With engine off, open vent T at top of water
seperator.
3. Open drain valve B at bottom ofwater seperator
to allow any water to drain out.
4. If water is present, it will drain first. When fuel
emerges from the valve, close the valve. Close
the vent.
NOTE: Failure to drain water reduces fuel filter
efficiency.
AIR SUPPLY TO ENGINE
l l Keep tractor hood screens clean and clear.
Changing air filter
l l Remove the side grill
l l Remove end cap of air filter cartridge. Remove
accumulated dust or dirt.
l l Remove filter element F (pull straight out firmly)
l l Install new filter element (press firmly against
rear shoulder)
l l Replace end cap and fasten with clips (arrow on
dust bowl of cap point upwards).
l l Replace the side grill
NOTE: Extensive damage to engine can result from
an inadequate air supply.
