4.6.2 ALITALIA PERFECTA (DDS)
The seed must be placed at the right depth in the seed bed for
good surfacing of the buds.
A system has been introduced in the ALITALIA PERFECTA version
that allows to independently manage the seeding depth control
and the ground's pressure adjustment of the seeding elements.
Seeding depth contro
The rear wheel's position respect to the coulters' discs determines
the seeding depth (Fig. 58). Use the stretchers (A, Fig. 59) to adjust
seeding depth.
It is important, to obtain homogenous seeding depth on the full
work width, to register the two stretchers in equal measure (use
the graduated scale on both stretchers).
N.B.: The pointer of the adjustment scale is purely progres-
sive; it does not show a variation in cm on the depth on
theseeding
Pressure adjustment on the single seeding element
Further pressure adjustment in three positions (B, Fig. 59) is pos-
sible using the spring tensioner with perforated lever fi tted on each
single seeding element.
Centralised pressure adjustment
The pressure of all coulters can be varied simultaneously during
seeding in areas where the soil is more resistant to penetration,
by means of an hydraulically operated system that lifts and lowers
the seeding bar to, respectively, increase and decrease ground
pressure, thus guaranteeing regular seed deposition at the esta-
blished depth.
The adequately arranged adjustment pivots (V1-V2, Fig. 60) de-
termine, respectively, maximum and minimum pressure applicable
to the coulters working as parallelogram's end run.
The hydraulic systems provided come equipped with one-way fl ow
regulators (Fig. 61) which allow for the regulation of the quantity
of oil during opening or closing, depending on how the regulators
have been installed:
Flow from B to C, free (Fig. 61);
Flow from C to B, choked (regulated) (Fig. 61).
o regulate, loosen the lock nut (1) and turn the knob (2). Once this
adjustment has been made, re-tighten the lock nut.
Make sure that the result of this adjustment does not cause the
rising or descent speed to damage the structure itself. Never
exceed the maximum admissible pressure for the hydraulic
system.
