• Keep all safety and danger notices on/at the unit complete and always in a legible condition.
• The operator is obliged to check safety-relevant parts, such as guards (protective panels) before commissioning and, in the event of any defects,
resolve these defects before commissioning.
• As a matter of principle, no guards may be dismantled or put out of operation.
• If a guard needs to be removed for repair, the guard must be refitted once the repair work has been completed.
• The length of the cattle's tail hair must not exceed 5 cm. Risk of injury!
• Connection cables may have to be protected from being chewed by animals!
• Operation of the unit is only permitted with components and spare parts that are supplied or listed in the spare and wear parts list.
• The dip switch setting may only be made by a qualified electrician following consultation with Kerbl Service.
The unit must be disconnected from the voltage supply for this to be done.
• The dip switch setting is coordinated with this unit. If the default setting is changed, injuries can occur.
The responsibility for this setting lies with the customer.
• The maintenance intervals specified in these operating instructions must be observed.
• With pillar mounting especially, take care to ensure that the base platform does not twist. (possibly as a result of too much tension on the
screws).
• Only use genuine spare parts.
3. Residual risks and foreseeable misuse
Risks for persons:
• under the following circumstances, the safety of persons and material objects can be endangered:
• If the guards on moving parts have been removed.
• If any damage to the electronic control unit is not repaired immediately.
• Troubleshooting, adjustment, cleaning, repair and maintenance work contrary to the instructions in the operating instructions.
• If untrained personnel are working on electronic parts.
• If the unit is activated before being secured properly to a wall or pillar (for testing or demonstration reasons).
• Failure to observe safety instructions and warning labels on the product and the safety instructions in the operating instructions.
• Unauthorised modifications to the unit.
• Use of non-original manufacturer spare parts
The following points summarise further measures aimed at protecting against personal and material risks:
• Ensure that the unit, the control devices and the brushes are not damaged during transport and installation.
• Mount the unit in a place that is well ventilated and free from electromagnetic interference.
• The personnel responsible must be trained in the use and maintenance of the unit.
Risk for animals:
under the following circumstances, the safety of the animals can be endangered.
• The animals are not yet fully mature.
• The cattle are of an unusually small breed.
• The switch-off resistance can be set too high.
• The animals have collars and/or tail hair that are too long (max. 5 cm).
• The animals' hides are more than 5 cm long.
• Live parts (cables) are not sufficiently/at all protected against chewing.
Important! The length of the cattle's tail hair must not exceed 5 cm!
