7.5 Reset

The compressor module monitors the measurement
data of numerous sensors. If a fault occurs, at least one
shutdown value has been exceeded. The module then
switches off the compressor motor. Depending on the
type of fault, it resets automatically with a time delay or
it locks and must be externally reset.

7.6 Automatic time-delayed reset

As soon as the measured value of the sensor that
triggered the fault falls below the restart threshold, the
compressor motor is switched on again with a time
delay. The alarm message in the alarm list becomes in-
active. The factory setting of the time delay is 60 s. This
setting can be changed with the BEST SOFTWARE.

7.7 External reset

In the event of serious malfunctions or after too many
automatic resetting operations, the module locks. In
this case, the system must be checked before unlock-
ing:
▶ Determine the cause in the safety chain. To do this,
evaluate alarm messages from the BEST
SOFTWARE.
▶ Eliminate the cause(s) of the fault.
▶ Reset externally.
➙ The compressor starts when there is a capacity de-
mand.
The module can be unlocked in various ways. All sys-
tem-related alarms with the exception of the motor tem-
perature monitoring can be unlocked via Modbus com-
mand or with the BEST SOFTWARE.

• Disconnect the voltage supply (L/N) for at least 5 s
by actuating switch S2 (reset).
If the motor temperature is too high, the module locks
itself. To unlock the device, the voltage supply (L/N)
must be interrupted for at least 5 seconds.

8 Monitoring operating parameters with
BEST SOFTWARE or BEST APP
BEST SOFTWARE and BEST APP offer comprehens-
ive access to all operating data and operating paramet-
ers. The BEST SOFTWARE can be downloaded for
free from the BITZER website (www.bitzer.de). The
BEST APP is also available for free for Android and for
iOS from the respective app store. The chapters that
follow also include the operation of the BEST APP ac-
cordingly.
8.1 Establishing communication via the
BEST SOFTWARE
Requirements
• PC/mobile device
– equipped with the operating system Windows 7 or
newer
– with Bluetooth interface or USB port
– with BEST SOFTWARE installed
The BEST SOFTWARE can be downloaded for
free from the BITZER website (www.bitzer.de).
• For communication via the USB port:
– Plug the BEST interface converter into the com-
pressor module (CN14) and the PC or mobile
device.
– Control the compressor via the analogue connec-
tion (CN13). Simultaneous capacity control via the
Modbus connection is not possible.
