3. SKYLOTEC SKYLINE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: Any work at height is dangerous and can result in accidents or serious injury. It is your responsibility to
use and learn about the application techniques for each material used. People wearing personal safety equipment
must undergo suitable training, as prescribed in European Directive 89/686/EEC Section II, Article 4, Para 8.
SKYLOTEC SKYLINE fall arrester systems must only be installed by trained and certified personnel. During all
assembly work, pay attention to the maximum distances and information regarding static calculations.
Caution: the system must be installed so that the calculated deflection of the steel rope in the event of a fall does
not come into contact with any sharp edges.
Composition of the horizontal anchor device
The SKYLOTEC-SKYLINE horizontal anchor device comprises:
An anchor device (steel rope / additional components as well as sub-construction) that must be
permanently installed on the building substrate.
A mobile runner / slider that allows the runner / slider to travel across the intermediate structural anchor
over a larger distance.
These components must not be used separately. The system has been certified and must only be used with both
components of the equipment.
Requirement:
Intermediate, corner and terminal anchors must be designed in such a way that the minimum breaking load is 25
kN, however only while the shock absorber has not been activated. Installers must ensure that the building substrate
on which the anchor device is installed is suitable for this.
If possible, the SKYLINE system must be installed on structural equipment that allows the anchor device to be
tested. If it is not possible to subject the supporting construction to test loads, it must be demonstrated in advance
for all external and intermediate structural anchors that they can withstand two times the value of their predicted
maximum load. A qualified person must calculate and demonstrate that the supporting construction is able to
withstand these forces with external and intermediate structural anchors
