INSTALLATION
LOCATION OF THE INLINE PRESSURE BOOSTING SYSTEM
Decide on a location for the pump installation that is suitable
based on the enclosure rating of the Inline Pressure Boosting
System. The Inline Pressure Boosting System is only approved
for indoor installation.
Choose a clean, well-ventilated location that provides protection
from freezing, flooding, and excessive heat. In addition, it should
provide access for servicing and allow convenient draining of the
pump housing, tank, and service pipes. A prepared foundation
is not essential, provided the surface is hard and level. The Inline
Pressure Boosting System can be mounted in either a vertical or
horizontal orientation. The unit may be mounted to either a wall
or a floor. When mounting to a wall in a horizontal orientation,
please use the horizontal mounting accessory. The unit must not
be inverted or hung from a horizontal surface.
There must be a minimum of 20" of clearance below the bottom
of the tank to allow access for repair.
N O T I C E
When mounting horizontally, be sure the
tank is properly supported. An optional mounting hook can be
purchased to assist when mounted to a wall horizontally. Do not
hang horizontally from a horizontal surface, such as mounting to
the underside of a floor.
N O T I C E
The Inline Pressure Boosting System is
designed for indoor use only.
PLUMBING, PIPING, and HOSES
In general, keep the suction and discharge lines as large as possible.
Avoid using bends, elbows, and fittings whenever possible. All
suction connections must be airtight, so use pipe compound on all
threaded joints. A suction strainer may be used to help prevent solids
and foreign matter from being drawn into the pump.
The Inline Pressure Boosting System pump is designed to be
used with clean water only.
WATER SUPPLY REQUIREMENT
The Inline Pressure Boosting System is not designed to draw/
lift water from a source below the pumping unit. There is not an
incoming flow requirement, other than that the system needs
to be supplied with a constant supply of water to keep the unit
completely full of water at all times. It is recommended that the
system be supplied with an inlet line of ¾" diameter or larger.
SUCTION PIPING
When the pump is located at a distance from the water source,
the suction piping may have to be increased in diameter to
reduce friction loss. The friction loss in a system increases:
1)
As the flow rate increases
2)
As the piping size decreases
Refer to the included Inline Pressure Boosting System's
performance tables (Appendix 1) and friction loss tables
