An extra fence produces more sawing depth.
The extra fence is made of wood, about 19 mm
in depth, 38 mm high, and 40 cm long. Fit the
fence firmly and saw a cut with a maximum
sawing depth to achieve a groove for the
blade. Check that the fence does not touch the
bottom blade guard. Adjust, if necessary.
FIG. 34
NOTE:
The extra wooden fence must only be used
with a bevel angle of 0° (90° on the saw
table) and must be removed before bevel
sawing.
Sawing skirting boards
Different types of skirting can be combination
sawed. Suitable settings depend on the type of
skirting and the application. Practice on spare
pieces of wood for best results.
FIG. 35
•
The skirting must rest firmly against the
fence and the saw table. Use a clamp or
cramp. Protect the workpiece with tape, if
necessary.
•
Tape can also be put over the sawing line
to prevent splintering. Mark out the
sawing line on the tape.
•
Splintering occurs most often in thin
workpieces, or when using unsuitable
blades.
NOTE:
Always move the saw head along the
intended sawing line before starting the
product to make sure there is no risk of
collision.
Sawing cornices
•
The product is suitable for sawing
cornices. To fit together correctly cornices
76
must be combination sawed very
precisely. The ends of the cornices must fit
together so that the angle is 90°.
FIG. 36
•
On most cornices the angle to the ceiling
is 52° and the angle to the wall is 38°.
•
To saw a cornice for a 90° internal or
external corner, place the wide back flat
against the surface of the saw table.
•
Note that the bevel angle and mitre angle
are affected – when one is changed, the
other is also changed.
NOTE:
The table on the next page indicates settings
for combination sawing of cornices at an
angle of 90° between the walls.
