TANK AND PIPE SIZING

The SubDrive Utility system needs a minimum tank size of 20 gallons (75 liters) when used with a Franklin Electric 2-wire submersible motor,
regardless of the pump flow rate. This is to minimize pressure fluctuations while the system is running and to ensure water is available during
the minimum off time of the 2-wire submersible motor. If a smaller tank size is used the tank may empty if a large water demand immediately
follows a motor off cycle.
The pressure tank pre-charge setting should be 70% of the system pressure setting, as indicated in Table 3. The minimum supply pipe diameter
should be selected not to exceed a maximum velocity of 8 ft/sec (2.4 m/s) (see Table 4 for minimum pipe diameter).

Submersible pumps can develop very high pressure in some situations. Always install
a pressure relief valve able to pass full pump flow at 100 psi. Install the pressure relief
valve near the pressure tank and run to a drain capable of full system flow.

The pressure sensor supplied with this controller must be set between 25 and 80 psi
(1.7 and 5.5 bar) only.
