Interference
Possible Cause
• Pressure sensor placement and setting
• Tank pre-charge
• Impeller damage
• Leaky system
• Sized improperly
(pump can't build enough head)
• Check fault code and see
corrective action
• Pressure sensor setting
• Pump sizing
• Pressure sensor setting
• Shorted sensor wire
• Fan noise
• Drive noise
• Hydraulic/plumbing noise
• Wire routing not per recommendations
• Radio or other electronic equipment
are too close to power or motor leads
Corrective Action
• Check frequency at low flows; pressure setting may be too close to pump
maximum head capability
• Verify tank pre-charge is 70% of pressure set point; increase to 85% for larger tanks
• Verify the system will build and hold pressure
• Check for leaks in plumbing and repair as necessary
• Proceed to diagnostic fault code description and remedy
• Adjust pressure sensor
• Check frequency at max flow; check max pressure
• Adjust pressure sensor
• Remove sensor wire at PCB; if drive continues to run, replace drive
• Verify the condition of the sensor wire and repair or replace as necessary
• For excessive fan noise, check for obstructions or replace fan
• If fan noise is normal, drive may need to be relocated to a more remote area
• If hydraulic noise, try raising or lowering the depth of the pump
• Pressure tank location should be at the entrance of water line into house
(minimize pipe vibration)
• Refer to wire routing recommendations on page 11 and correct as necessary
• Electronic filter kit may be required to remedy electrical interference;
see "Accessories" on page 26
