TRANSPORT AND
STORAGE
CAUTION :
• The engine and the exhaust pipe reach temperatures high
enough to cause burns and to start a fire if flammable materials
are located nearby. Allow the engine to cool before performing
any maintenance operations.
Petrol is extremely flammable and explosive. If it ignites when
you are handling it, you may receive serious burns. Handle fuel
outdoors only. Any petrol spilled on the ground must be wiped
up immediately.
TRANSPORT
To avoid any spillage of fuel, drain the fuel tank. Set the engine
switch to the "OFF" position and keep the motor hoe in a level
position. When the motor hoe is transported, it must be held in place
with straps.
LOADING ON A TRAILER
1. Drain the fuel tank and empty
the carburettor
(see page
2. Load the motor hoe onto the trailer in the working position.
3. Secure the motor hoe to the trailer by attaching straps to the
angles of the upper handlebar and to the depth bar, as
illustrated [1].
4. If necessary, fold the handlebar.

FOLDING THE HANDLEBAR
6
NOTE: The handlebar can be folded
7
forwards or backwards as required.
If the handlebar is folded backwards,
6
first tip the motor hoe a quarter of a
8
turn forwards.
1. Loosen the handlebar clamping
8
screws [2] by 5 or 6 turns.
2. Fold the upper handlebar section
6
by swivelling it forwards or
backwards.
9

LOADING INTO A CAR BOOT
1. Drain the fuel tank and empty the carburettor
2. Fold the handlebar as described above.
3. Carefully place the motor hoe in the car boot with
the silencer downwards.
PREPARATION FOR STORAGE
Carry out the following operations to protect the motor hoe
whenever it has to be placed in storage for longer than 30 days.
1. Clean the motor hoe
2. Drain the fuel tank
3. Change the engine oil
4. Clean the air filter

5. Place the choke lever in the "ON" position.
6. Gently pull the recoil starter
handle [8] until you feel resistance,
and align the reference mark [6] on
the cooling fan [7] with the mark [5]
on the recoil starter housing [4]. At
this point, the inlet and exhaust
valves are closed. This helps to
protect the engine from internal
corrosion.
7. Apply a light coat of oil on areas
liable to rust. Cover the motor hoe
with a tarpaulin and store it on a
level surface in a dry, dust-free
location.
