INTRODUCTION

Rampa is an electronic unit designed for indoor
cycling training & testing that connects to a PC
(Windows) or app for mobile devices such as
smartphones or tablets.
In order to fully enjoy the Rampa you must have a
display (software, app or device) that connects to
the hometrainer, displays training data and
adjusts resistance.
Rampa
features
integrated
"Bluetooth Smart" connectivity options, which
makes the Rampa compatible with most devices
without having to use other additional compo-
nents.
Rampa is compatible with the ELITE "My
E-Training" app. This multi-function app is com-
patible with iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and
Android devices. The app is available at Apple and
Android online stores.
Same thing happens for the ANT+
Your hometrainer will use it if it's integrated in
your smartphone / tablet / cycle computer, other-
wise there are models that can communicate via
an external flash drive to be connected directly or
via some adapters.
A complete list of devices featuring the ANT+TM
FE-C protocol is available at (http://www.thisi-
sant.com/directory/).
Note: Not all computers/devices have integrated
ANT+
connectivity and some may require an
TM
additional component.
Many newer phones and tablets already feature
the Bluetooth Smart Ready connection and/or the
ANT+
connection and do not require additional
TM
components: if your smartphone / tablet / device
cycle computer features integrated ANT+
nectivity it will be utilized, otherwise some models
can communicate with external USB dongles for a
direct connection or via adapters.
Here's a list of compatible devices:
iPad 3 or newer
iPhone 4S or newer
iPod Touch 5th gen or newer
Device with Android v. 4.3 or newer and Bluetooth
4.0 or newer.
The above are the minimum required features for
Bluetooth Smart compatibility.
Please refer to the instructions included with your
device for a detai led explanation of its features.

DATA TRANSMISSION PROTOCOLS

As previously mentioned, the Rampa employs
wireless transmission to connect the hometrainer
to an app/software/device.
The hometrainer uses two types of wireless pro-
tocol, ANT+
• ANT+
and adjusts resistance from the app/device.
• ANT+
tocols send the rider's power value estimate.
"ANT+
"
and
TM
• ANT+
Speed&Cadence protocols send rider's speed and
cadence values.
• Bluetooth Smart Elite Trainers protocol adjusts
the hometrainer resistance from the app / softwa-
re / device.
Please contact the app / software / device manu-
facturer to verify compatibility with one or more of
these protocols.
connectivity.
TM
A few additional remarks on the use of these pro-
tocols:
• When the hometrainer is connected to the devi-
ce by a Bluetooth Smart protocol, it cannot be
connected to additional devices.
This is a restriction of the Bluetooth Smart proto-
col itself.
• When a hometrainer connects with an ANT+
protocol, it stops sending data with the Bluetooth
Smart protocol (and vice-versa).
• Rampa hometrainer does not read heart rate
con-
monitor data. Heart rate monitor data can be read
TM
directly from a device that includes a heart rate
function.
• Compatibility with various types of heart rate
monitors depends on the device / software / app
and Bluetooth Smart:
