Servicing and treatment (pic. 1a+4+5+7+9)
CAUTION: Follow the operating instructions
applicable to this appliance. Servicing works specified in
the instructions must be performed by an authorised
service centre.
CAUTION: Unplug the chain saw before any
servicing. Electric shock or contact with the rotating chain
could cause serious injuries. The cutting edges are sharp.
Wear protective gloves when handling the chain.
Saw body cleaning
Keep the saw body clean. Use a soft cloth soaked to fine soap
water. Use the soft cloth to wipe the saw body. Do not plunge
the saw to liquids. Do not use cleaners containing ammonia,
chlorine or emery. Do not use clearing baths containing
chlorine, carbon tetrachloride, kerosene or petrol.
Oil tank filling
Remove the oil tank cover.
Add biodegradable oil for chains to the oil tank (1a/12).
Refit the oil tank cover. Tighten the oil tank cover. This
will prevent oil from leaking from the tank.
Wipe any excess oil. Drain the oil tank (pic. 1a/12) after
each use to prevent oil leaking.
Chain bar treatment
Uneven wear is the cause of the most frequent problems with
the chain bar. An unauthorised treatment of cutting elements of
the chain and improper depth limiter grinding may amplify that.
If this is the case, replace the chain bar. Check the chain bar
before saw sharpening. A worn-out or damaged chain bar is
not safe and damaged the chain, which is why it must not be
used!
Regular chain bar servicing
1.
Remove the chain bar off the chain saw.
2.
From time to time, remove the wood flour from the chain
bar notch. In doing so, use the glazing or wire knife.
3.
Oil grooves to be cleaned after the day when used.
4.
Remove any inequality on sides of the chain bar. Use a
blunt file for flat filing of edges.
5.
Do not fit the chain bar if bent or cracked or if the inner
rail notch is significantly worn-out.
Saw chain sharpening
The chain must always be sharp!
Cutting is then faster and safer. A blunt chain causes useless
wear of the chain wheel, chain bar, chain and the engine. The
chain is blunt if it needs to be pressed to the wood and the
cutting results in wood flour and some bigger fractions.
Saw chain changing
Change the chain if the cutting elements are too worn-out after
repeated sharpening or if the chain faces a risk of breaking. A
spare chain mentioned in these Operating Instructions to be
used only. The chain wheel must also be changed when
changing the chain. By this, the chain will be driven properly.
Chain bar and saw chain fitting:
CAUTION: The cutting edges on the chain are sharp.
Wear protective gloves when handling the chain.
IMPORTANT: Vice the pole saw carefully when fitting it.
1.
Remove the chain wheel cover (pic. 7)
2.
Fit the chain to the bar (pay attention to the chain
rotation direction pic. 9!)
3.
Loosen the clamping screw (pic. 5/B)
4.
Fit the chain to the chain wheel and insert the bar (long
bar opening and bar boring match the chain bar screw
and clamping screw.
5.
Fit the cover (pic. 7) and tighten it slightly (by hand).
CAUTION: Do not fit the chain against the rotation
direction. If the chain is the other way round, the saw
strongly vibrates and does not cut (pic. 9)
Lubricating the lopping shears extension blade (pic. 4)
If the shearing mechanism gets overheated, the inner blade
surfaces must be lubricated.
This step may only be taken when the engine is off and the
blade is idle.
