Warning signs denoting different types of
danger
The following warning signs are used in these
operating instructions to denote different types
of danger:
Warning signs
Intended use
The DHV-U back pressure valves are only
n
intended for use with liquids.
The DHV-U back pressure valves are used
n
to create a constant back pressure for pre‐
cise feed rates, for protection against over-
metering or to increase the metering preci‐
sion if the back pressure is fluctuating,
when there is a free outlet or when
metering in a vacuum.
Type of danger
Warning – danger
zone.
The DHV-U back pressure valves are
n
intended for use in conjunction with pulsa‐
tion dampers to create low-pulsation
metering.
Used as relief valves in the bypass they
n
limit the metering pump operating pres‐
sure.
All other uses or modifications are pro‐
n
hibited.
The back pressure valves are not safety
n
valves according to DIN EN ISO 4126-1.
The DHV-U back pressure valve is not to
n
be used as a completely leak-tight shut-off
device.
The back pressure valves are not are not
n
intended for use with gaseous media or
solids.
The back pressure valves are not to be
n
used with abrasive or crystallising media.
The back pressure valves must not come
n
into contact with media which corrode the
transporting media. This shall also apply to
cleaning media and fats. - see the ProMi‐
nent resistance list in the product cata‐
logue or at www.prominent.com.
The back pressure valves must not be
n
used outside the ambient and operating
conditions as specified in these operating
instructions – see e.g. P-T- chart in the
"Technical Data" chapter, ... .
The back pressure valves should only be
n
operated by trained and authorised per‐
