Machine-specific safety instructions

Use the right band saw blade at all times.
The machine must be off before putting the material to be cut to
the vice or before removing it from the vice.
At all times, keep your hands and fingers in a safe distance
from the running band saw blade.
Check the coolant amount on a daily basis. A too small amount
of coolant may lead to foaming and high temperature of the
band saw blade. A dirty coolant may block the pump, cause a
corrugated cut, low cutting speed and damage to the band saw
blade.
Never use cutting oils or emulsions (oil and water mixture) as
the coolant when cutting magnesium or magnesium superalloys.
They would cause an ignition of magnesium shavings. Agree
on the necessary coolant with the coolant supplier.
The band saw blade must not be braked by hand.
The safety equipment and protective covers, etc. must not be
removed.
Never remove shavings by hand, use a brush instead.
Never leave the machine when in operation.
Assembly
Electrical connection:
CEE 16A plug: L1, L2, L3,PE occupied
Connection may only be performed by an electrician!
Wheels:
Install all four wheels to the axis on the machine support and
fasten them with four cotter pins. Then, bend the cotter pins
with tongs to prevent the wheels from getting released from the
axis when moving (pic. 2).
Transport protection/stop:
Loosen the transport protection (pic. 3) and remove the hex
screws. Install the transport protection as the stop as shown in
pic. 4.
Screen:
Put the screen to the depression (pic. 5).
Longitudinal stop:
To install the longitudinal stop guiderail, increase the distance
of the adjusting screw using an Allen key so that the rod can
easily be inserted inside (pic. 6).
When the rod is fitted properly, refasten it using an Allen key.
Slip the longitudinal stop on the guiderail and fasten it in the
required position using the wing screw (pic. 7).
End switch-off:
The end switch-off (pic. 11) must be set individually. It is set
properly if the material is cut off and the saw stops.
Now the band saw can be used in the horizontal
position. To use the band saw in the vertical position, the
table must be installed as follows:
Table:
Loosen the screws as shown in pic. 8. Insert the table and
screw it firmly again (pic. 9). Now fit the table supports as
shown in pic. 10.
Before putting the machine into operation
The working surface and area must be lit properly at all times.
Put the machine to a flat and horizontal surface and make sure
the machine is stable. Do not place the machine on a wall.
Apart from the operator, no persons may be present in the
dangerous area.
The minimum safety distance of 10 m must be kept.
The band saw noise is app. 80 dB. Wear ear protectors at all
times!
Band saw blade
Unplug the machine before any adjustment and servicing.
Tensioning the band saw blade:
Loosen two screws (pic. 12) and tension the band saw blade
using the tension screw (pic. 13).
The band saw blade is tensioned properly if it can be pressed by
2-3 mm.
When the band saw blade is tensioned properly, rescrew it firmly
using two screws (pic. 12).
Adjusting the guiding:
The band saw blade guide must be adjusted as – otherwise - it
could be turned over, which would result in an unclean cut.
Loosen the screw (pic. 14) and adjust the guide depending on the
width of the processed material using the fluted screw (pic. 15).
Changing the band saw blade:
Loosen the screw (pic. 21) and remove the cover (pic. 22). Now
fit a new band saw blade on the rollers and put it between the
guide bearings and blade guide (pic. 23). Tension the band saw
blade again and close the cover safely and firmly.
Tank with coolant
Using coolant increases the cutting power and extends the life of
the band saw blade.
Take the waste hose (pic. 18) from the tank with coolant, push the
tank out of the support and carefully remove the cover with the
coolant pump.
Now fill the tank with common coolant to 80% of its capacity.
To start the coolant pump, first open the tap (pic. 15/A) and then
put the button (pic. 25/B) to the I position. When the pump is on,
the lamp (pic. 25/A) is on, too. To switch the pump off again, just
put the switch (pic. 25/B) to 0.
Operation
Pressure force:
Pressure on the material is reduced when the counter-screw is
turned left. Pressure is increased when the counter-screw is
turned right (pic. 16).
Setting the angle:
Adjust the angle to the processed material at all times.
To shift the entire operating block, turn the wheel (pic. 17/A). To
put the contact jaws to the right position, turn the respective
screws (pic. 17/B).
Cutting speed:
The cutting speed always depends on the material being cut.
Release the engine by loosening two screws (pic. 19). Then,
open the V-belt housing cover and calibrate the V-belt (pic. 20) in
a way to achieve the required revolutions.
Hydraulic cylinder:
The cylinder prevents accidental lowering of the band saw. To
open the saw, press the red lever down. To close the saw again,
press the lever up (pic. 24).
Control panel:

A = if the lamp is on, the coolant pump is on.
B = starting button for the coolant pump
C = On button
D = Off button
E = emergency switch
Cutting speed options (pic. 27):
