• Breathe out slowly and completely through your mouth and
into the PARI O-PEP (as slowly and for as long as possible).
As you do so, tense your cheek muscles and keep your
cheeks taut.
• Repeat the cycle of breathing in and out for 10 to 15 breaths.
End the treatment session if the exertion becomes too great.
The treatment will be ineffective if the patient breathes in too
rapidly or has to exert himself excessively to breathe.
CAUTION
If dizziness occurs, this is a sign of overexertion. In this event,
discontinue the treatment immediately and consult your doctor
or therapist before using the device again.
Children may overexert themselves sooner because they have
a smaller lung capacity than adults.
Notes for optimum treatment:
Place your free hand flat against your chest while you
breathe in and out. When you are using the device correctly,
you will feel an unmistakeable, regular vibration. The
strength of the vibration varies according to the alignment of
the PARI O-PEP. Find the alignment at which the vibration is
strongest (tilt the PARI O-PEP slightly up or down).

The frequency and duration of application will be determined by
your doctor or therapist depending on your individual require-
ments.
