8.10 Start-up and vacuum limiting valve

item 14 shows the vacuum limiting rub-
ber-coated valve disc. Only replace the valve disc
if damaged. The circular 'ridge' must face the com-
pressed air cylinder.
Perform the following start-up and vacuum limiting
valve inspection every 500 hours of operation:

Start the unit.

Place your hand on the motor cooling air outlet,

The valve works correctly when:
• Air is sucked into the motor cooling air outlet
during Y mode.
• Hot air is blown out from the motor cooling air
outlet during D mode.
8.11 Vacuum level
WARNING! Risk of hearing impairment
Use a hearing protector when verifying the
vacuum level. The sound level is very high
when the unit is run with the enclosure roof re-
moved.
Perform the following vacuum level inspection every
500 hours of operation:

Close all valves at work sites.

Start the unit.

Verify the level on the vacuum meter corres-
ponds with the working vacuum specified in

data.

Do the following to adjust the vacuum level:

Remove the roof. Keep all enclosure panels in
place.

Release the regulator knob from the locked posi-
tion, see

Push down the regulator knob to the locked posi-
tion.
4 Refit the roof.
8.12 Pump service
The 3-lobe roots pump must be dismantled for re-
placement of bearings and gear wheels after 30000
hours of operation. This service must be carried out by
qualified personnel. Contact your local Nederman rep-
resentative for more information.

When ordering spare parts always state the following:
• The part number and control number (see the
