Power supply/putting into operation

3.3.1 MOT 240 (liquid crystal display)
The Motortester MOT 240 is powered from the battery of the
vehicle it is connected to. It operates down to a minimum battery
power of 9.0 V. If the voltage drops below this level, satisfactory
operation can no longer be guaranteed. It can be connected to
12 or 24 volt systems. The tester is automatically turned on when
the red and black clamps of the battery connecting cable are
connected to the vehicle power supply and it is operational after
about 15 seconds.
Disconnecting the MOT 240 from the vehicle battery turns the
tester off and erases the internal program memory.
As an alternative, the tester can also be operated by using the line
adapter 1 687 022 296 line adapter which is available as a special
accessory or the connecting cable 1 684 463 264 (special
accessory) can be connected to any other external power pack
or battery (output 12 V/2.5 A).
3.3.2 MOT 250 (CRT)
The power is supplied from the mains and is automatically
adapted to any a.c. voltage between 100 to 240 volts at 50/60 Hz.
To put the tester into operation, connect the control and display
unit to the tester with the two interconnecting cables included in
the scope of delivery. These two cables are laid in the pivot arm
of system trolley SYS 01 together with the interface cables
(special accessories) for report printer PDR and exhaust gas
testers ETT.
i When pulling in the cables, insert the plug-in connections in
offset position, then wrap the cables with the supplied cable
couplers for protection.
3.3.3 MOT 251 (with CRT and equipment trolley)
The power is supplied from the mains and is automatically
adapted to any a.c. voltage between 100 to 240 volts at
50/60 Hz.
The MOT 251 is installed ready to operate in the upper half of the
equipment trolley which is included in the scope of delivery. To
put it into operation it is only necessary to bolt the two parts of the
equipment trolley together.
