Exhaust gas analysis / exhaust gas diagnosis
F4: Selection: exhaust test / exhaust gas diagnosis
F5:
Selection: performing a leak test.
The leak test performs leaktightness testing using the
exhaust gas test units ETT 8.21 ... 8.41/8.5x/8.6x/8.7x.
Upon entering the exhaust gas test, the pump is automatically
turned on when the exhaust gas tester is ready to operate and a
zero point calibration is performed (duration approx. 30 seconds)
and upon existing the measuring program it is turned back off
(with MOT 250 via interconnecting cable 1 684 465 264 and with
MOT 240/251 via interconnecting cable 1 684 465 233, special
accessories in each case).
Illustration showing the exhaust gas constituents after the warm-up
phase
If the pump of the connected exhaust gas tester is already ON
before you enter the measuring program, it also remains ON after
you exist this program. The MOT automatically recognizes which
type of exhaust gas tester is connected and displays only the
exhaust gas constituents on the screen, together with the pertinent
rpm and oil temperature.
If the connected exhaust gas tester is not ON when you enter the
measuring program of if it is still in the warm-up phase, the MOT
does not recognize it as being connected or as being ready for
use. This is indicated by a warning symbol on the status line.
You must exit the measuring program and call it again when the
warm-up phase is over.
i When the German AU exhaust gas tester ETT 8.41/8.61 is
used, a check is always made upon entry into the exhaust
gas measuring program (even for exhaust gas test/exhaust
gas diagnosis) to ascertain whether the test forn leaks is
necessary. If so, this is performed or, in the case of exhaust
gas test/exhaust gas diagnosis, must be selected with
softkey F5. Likewise, an HC residue test is performed
before each test.
