Removing the distractor or consolidation bar after the consolidation phase

3DX External Distraction System
Loosen the knurled nuts (6) of the
•
distraction arms (7) by turning them
counterclockwise by hand. Once both nuts
and distraction arms have been loosened,
the distractor body can be carefully
removed.
To remove the distraction arms, rotate the
•
nut of the corresponding pin holding clamp
clockwise with the patient screwdriver
(item no. 51-600-75-07, section 10.3
"Instruments", page 40) until the distraction
arms (7) are completely detached from the
pin holding clamps.
Loosen the pin fixation screws (8) and
•
remove the distractor or consolidation bar.
Remove the pins anchored in the bone and
•
ensure adequate wound care.
Instruct the patient about required follow-
•
up treatment measures.
