measure prevents the risk of the
power tool starting up accidentally.
d Store power tools that are not in
use out of the reach of children. Do
not anyone to operate the power
tool who is not familiar with it, or
who has not read these instruc-
tions. Power tools are dangerous
when used by inexperienced persons.
e Look after your power tools and
tool inserts carefully. Check
whether moving parts function
properly and do not bind, check
whether parts are broken or
damaged in such a way that the
functionality of the power tool is
affected. Have any damaged parts
repaired before using the power
tool. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
f Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to
jam and are easier to control.
g Use the power tool, accessories,
tool inserts etc. in accordance
with these instructions. Take the
working conditions and the task to
be completed into account. Using
the power tool for purposes for which
it was not intended may result in a
hazardous situation.
h Keep handles and grips dry, clean,
and free from oil and grease.
Slippery handles and grips do not
enable safe handling and control
of the power tool in the event of
unexpected situations.
5 Service
a Have your power tool serviced by
a qualified technician and repaired
using only original replacement
parts. This ensures that the safety of
your equipment is maintained.

6 – Safety instructions
relating specifically to
the equipment
• Hold the device by the insulated
handles only, since the grinding
surface is capable of cutting its
own connecting cable. Damage to a
power-carrying cable may put metal
parts of the device under power and
cause an electric shock.
• W hen sanding, for example, paint
containing lead, as well as certain types
of wood (e.g. ebony) and metal, it is
possible that hazardous/ poisonous
dust may be generated. Touching or
breathing in this dust represents a risk
to the operator and anybody else in the
vicinity. Use suitable personal protection
equipment, such as dust masks etc.,
in order to minimise the risks. Thus,
always work with the dust collection
mechanism attached.
• U se for dry sanding tasks only.
• B efore each use, check the machine
and sanding belt for damages.
• D o not process materials containing
asbestos.
• D o not bend the sanding belts.
• N ever process both wood and metal
using the same belt.
• W ear a dust mask and protective
goggles when sanding.
• W e also recommend wearing hearing
protection.
• S ecure the piece you are working
on to make sure it cannot slip, for
example, using a vice.
• O nly use sanding belts with the
specified dimensions.
