Before starting the engine always check:
that the oil level inside the engine (fig. 5, B) is right (please refer to the engine operator's
and service manual).
that the engine cooling intake grids are clean (fig. 5, A).
that all screws and nuts are well tightened especially those of the Y-shaped blades (fig. 7)
and those fixing the attachment to the machine (fig. 6).
that the all purpose flail carter is clean.
That all levers are in neutral position.
That the PTO lever is not engaged.
IMPORTANT: when the lever (fig. 2, n. 2) is pushed towards the front part of the machine the
PTO is disengaged and the attachment is off. When the lever is pulled towards the operator
the PTO lever is engaged and the attachment starts rotating (see PTO label – fig. 1).
that the oil-bath air filter is well clean and the oil at the right level (fig. 8).
STARTING THE ENGINE
Turn on the petrol cock (fig. 9, A), push the throttle lever halfway and engage the choke device
locate don the carburettor if the engine is cold (fig. 9, B). Switch the engine on by pulling hard on
the pull starter handle (fig. 9, C). Wait a couple of seconds until the engine is warm.
Important: during transfers engage the FORWARD/STOP lever only (fig. 2, n. 1 – fig. 3, A).
STARTING WORK
- Choose the desired cutting height using the lever (fig. 2, n. 10), speed up the engine, engage the
PTO-CLUTCH (fig. 3, B). Gently activate the forward gear lever (fig. 3, C) and start working. To
stop the machine release the lever on the handlebar (fig. 3, A).
- The lever (fig. 3, C) is used to choose the working speed and to engage the reverse gear. If the
lever is pushed forward, the forward gear is engaged, while if the lever is pulled backwards the
reverse gear is engaged. Always operate the lever gently.
- The forward/reverse gear lever (fig. 3, CI is equipped with a knob (fig. 2, n. 7) enabling the
operator to adjust the lever, making it harder or softer to engage.
- To turn right and left use the levers (fig. 2, n. 14). By using the lever on the left (fig. 3, D) the
machine turns left, by using the lever on the right (fig. 3, E). Engage both lever at the same time to
tow the machine with the engine off.
HANDLEBAR ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the height of the handlebar unlock the appropriate lever (fig. 2, n. 8), raise or lower the
handlebar and then release the lever to lock its position. To turn the handlebar use the lever (fig. 2,
n. 5), turn the handlebar to the right or to the left and then release the lever to lock its position.
END OF WORK
To switch the engine off, release the forward gear lever and the PTO lever on the handlebar and
set the throttle lever into OFF position (fig. 3, F).
CAUTION: never leave the machine unguarded or in a place where children or inexperienced
people could have easy access to it.
PARKING BRAKE
The parking brake is engaged via pedal. In the position showed in the picture (fig. 2, n. 15) the
parking brake is not engaged. Always engage the parking brake when leaving the machine on
slopes or when transferring the machine.
